Electrification of vehicles is the future. But, for most people, there still remains a psychological barrier against pure
electric vehicles as they envision getting stranded with a dead battery and no place and/or no time to recharge.
A plug-in hybrid electric vehicle is the next logical step and we hear large carmakers also touting the great benefits of PHEVs. You skip the gas station, save time and money, and it takes away the fear factor on the limited range. PHEVs can deliver double the gasoline equivalent of a regular car and car owners could save money in their sleep, recharging in the off hours when electricity is cheapest. Compared with hydrogen fuel-cell cars, the infrastructure for electric cars already exists, requiring only more plugs in more places.

To make our world a cleaner, safer, greener place--through the use of today's technology of electric and hybrid drive
trains, lithium ion batteries, and analog ICs--by providing a highly efficient, innovative, and scalable PHEV solution.
We aim to revolutionize the current automotive market by delivering plug-in hybrid technology to vehicles large and small
to customers that demand it today.
- To make plug-in hybrid vehicles available worldwide
- To lessen global dependence on oil reserves in transportation
- To reduce carbon dioxide and greenhouse gas emissions
- To strengthen national security
- To operate a sustainable enterprise
OEMtek is a for-profit social enterprise (FPSE) that focuses on overcoming crucial world issues such as global warming,
national security, and consumer spending through its promotion of plug-in electric energy as the fuel of today and
tomorrow. OEMtek designs, integrates and distributes components and upgrade systems for electric (BEVs) and hybrid
vehicles (HEVs), including plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs). OEMtek began in 2006, as the inspiration of a few
key engineers, professionals, investors, entrepreneurs and environmental enthusiasts around the world.
OEMtek is comprised of a global, diverse and innovative team of seasoned engineers and businessmen. Our core team members
are as follows:
- Keith Cocita, Operations Manager, has successfully operated various manufacturing operations in the US and Asia in his 30+ years in the RFID, and vehicle/aircraft/missiles manufacturing industry, including General Dynamics. Keith spent 1.5 years in Vietnam War, has an Associates Degree in Quality Assurance and received his BA from San Diego State. Keith enjoys riding his Harley, fixing up his Chevy, and visiting his kids in sunny San Diego.
- Jose Serna, Systems and Field Service Engineer, has expansive know-how in the automotive and aerospace industries. Jose has led the service implementation, testing, and assembly at GRECO and XCI prior to joining OEMtek. Jose received an Associates Degree in Electronics from Colman College, and enjoys changing motors and hydraulics to improve performance and speed on his vehicles.
- Xin Li, Lead Software Engineer, has 18+ years of experience in all aspects of product development lifecycle, including system architecture, project planning and management, software design and implementation, system integration, and quality assurance on embedded Linux, RTOS, Windows and UNIX platforms. Xin was a senior design engineer in Amdahl, a senior consultant in Professional Services group of SUN Microsystems and the key contributor/project lead in various start-ups. Xin received a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Tianjin Textile Engineering Institute and a M.S. in Computer Science from the Asian Institute of Technology. Xin enjoys hiking, traveling, photography and music.
OEMtek works closely in conjunction with many strong and credible partners.
- Valence Technology is a battery manufacturer that sells lithium phosphate battery cells and custom battery packs. Valence brings safe lithium phosphate power to both small and large-format applications. Their lithium phosphate technology is breaking away from earlier lithium cobalt solutions to safely power EV’s, marine electronics, and many other applications where long-life, safety, reliability and high performance are a necessity.
